HWg-WLD Relay: Water leak detector

HWg-WLD Relay: Water leak detectorHWg-WLD Relay detects a water leak anywhere along the length of the connected sensing cable (2+2m – 6.5+6.5ft). Water leak or cable disconnection is indicated by activating a relay (NO/NC). The sensor can be connected to a Poseidon unit over the 1-Wire UNI bus (RJ11).

HWg-WLD Relay can be installed stand-alone using a 12VDC power supply and a relay output, or as a sensor connected to a Poseidon unit over the 1-Wire UNI bus. Relay outputs indicate a detected water leak or cable disconnection.
HWg-WLD Relay is supplied with a 2m (6.5ft) sensing cable.

New plug-ins of HWg products for Nagios

Nagios is one of the most well-known and most often used open-source software for monitoring IT infrastructures.

Nagios monitors end-user stations, IT services, as well as active network components. Its architecture is very modular and suitable for deployment in heterogeneous or *nix-based networks. There is a large and active community around Nagios that develops many additional modules or plug-ins.

HWg-WLD: Water leak detector

HWg_WLD_water leak detectorHWg-WLD is a network-enabled water leak detector with a water-absorbing sensing cable. HWg-WLD features a built-in web server, SNMP support, and e-mail alert to water flooding. HWg-WLD can remotely control a relay output over the network (a relay is switched when a water leak is detected along the sensing cable).

HWg-WLD detects water leaks or water floods along the entire length of the sensing cable. The sensing cable detects even the smallest volume of water, ethylene glycol, or other conductive liquid. HWg-WLD can be ordered in two versions depending on the supply of power (power adapter or PoE IEEE 802.3af). The sensing cable detects as little as a few drops of the liquid, and can be used to detect condensation. After flooding, the cable can be dried and reused.
HWg-WLD features a built-in web server and SNMP support. In case of an alarm, the device sends an e-mail or SNMP trap. Alarms can be also signaled by switching a remote relay over the Ethernet. When a leak is detected, HWg-WLD activates a relay of a remote Poseidon or Damocles unit (Box-2-Box mode).

Applications:
  • Detection of water leaking from pipes (cable runs along the pipes)
  • Detection cable laid along the walls
  • Under raised floors
  • Above suspended ceilings
  • Detection of water leaks in drip trays
  • Detection of water leaks under A/C outlets

Damocles 1208: I/O over Ethernet

Damocles 1208Damocles 1208 is a device with 12 remote inputs and 8 outputs over Ethernet with Web interface. The device provides M2M communication for connection to SNMP and SCADA systems. Damocles 1208 has pulse counters on digital inputs. The device supports E-mail and SNMP trap notifications of input state changes. Box-2-Box mode - outputs can be controlled over the LAN by another device.

Damocles 1208 provides digital inputs (DI) and digital outputs (DO) that can be remotely controlled over the Web. The Inputs and outputs can also be controlled over the network using M2M protocols (SNMP, Modbus/TCP, XML over HTTP. Typical application of Damocles 1208 involves energy consumption monitoring by counting pulses from meters. The HWg-PDMS application converts pulses to kWh per time period and creates MS Excel output reports.

Applications:
  • Remote equipment monitoring:Monitoring of A/C, UPS, security system status (status relays)
  • Energy consumption monitoring:Counting of pulses from electricity / water / gas meters. Conversion to price using HWg-PDMS in MS Excel.
  • Alarm alerts:Turning on a warning light or a horn upon alarm at another unit (over the network, Box-2-Box mode)
  • UPS and back-up generator monitoring:Fuel level, diesel generator status, remote start over IP
  • Security systems:IP surveillance systems (external sensors) and Equipment status, access control systems
  • SCADA:Connection of external inputs to multiple independent systems

HWg-PWR – Ethernet energy meter

HWg-PWRHWg-PWR is an Ethernet-enabled device for remote monitoring and metering of electricity, heat, water or gas consumption using electricity meters, water meters, gas meters, heat meters and other sensors equipped with the M-BUS interface. In addition to metering, the device also supports alarming through e-mail or SNMP traps whenever allowed values are exceeded.

M-BUS is a standard in energy metering. As opposed to pulse counters, it works with absolute values (acquired data can be used as an argument against the utility bill), and at the same time allows working with additional quantities, such as voltage, current, flow, drift, etc.

HWg-PWR Ethernet energy meter

Applications:
  • Total electricity consumption
  • Instantaneous electricity consumption
  • Instantaneous voltages at individual lines
  • Instantaneous current flowing through each line
  • Power factor (cos ϕ) of individual lines

IP WatchDog HWg-WR02a: Ping restarter

IP WatchDog HWg-WR02aIP WatchDog HWg-WR02a monitors the functionality of a device over IP (PING/WEB) or serial line (RS-232), automatically restarts it upon failure. The device can monitor two devices (two independent channels, two 110/230VAC relays). Industrial applications benefit from DIN rail compatibility.

IP WatchDog WR02a (ping restarter) periodically monitors the functionality of a device by transmitting or receiving a specified “I'm alive and OK” signal over IP or RS-232. If the correct reply is not received in time, the device is restarted with a relay. Failures are detected with five distinct methods, separately for each channel (Ping Tx/Rx, Web page request/push, RS-232 data). Web WatchDog WR02a allows flexible configuration – method of functionality detection, switchoff time when restarting.

Applications:
  • Operation monitoring / IP restart: servers / routers; IP video cameras; WiFi links / access points; industrial systems
  • Connectivity monitoring: activation of a back-up link; detection of connectivity outage (relay >> horn); monitoring of ADSL and cable modems; security and access control systems
